To me, “Dance, even if only with your shadow” means that no matter who’s watching, be yourself. Live your life. There is more to it than just that, however. Unlike Peter Pan’s, your shadow is always with you, as long as there is light to give it life. What does your shadow see as it follows you around? What does your shadow take in? What does your shadow learn? Reflect on life (no pun intended) from the viewpoint of a third-party who is always with you, from the viewpoint of your shadow. Living life is not enough. You have to learn from it. And from my very few years spent on this earth, the best lessons learned come from either love or pain. This is the common thread that runs through my posts.

I’m a 21-year-old senior in college. I have vowed to not miss an opportunity to learn from any moment that life has a lesson to teach, even if that moment is the most mundane. This is my dance, from my shadow’s point-of-view.
